Ah, Athens.
Perhaps one of Europe’s most special, beautiful-ugly cities. The birthplace of democracy, a city with immense history and hidden beauty. In some places quite depressing and dirty. In a magical way, Athens manages to stunt between the two edges, creating the visitor a sense of necessity of this visit and before the return flight the conclusion that YES. Athens is beautiful. Athens does not have the romantic beauty of Paris, the grandeur of Vienna or the historic impossibility of Rome. It is not one of the “postcards” cities. But is alive and never stops evolving. 1. Acropolis. We don’t need to tell you why.

4. Walk around Koukaki and Aeropagitou
5. Brunch στο Ρίζα Ρίζα
6. Taste the most yammi profiterole at Choureal
7. Walk the Royal Gardens

9. Shop a lot on Ermou Street

11. For the more classic ones , a drive with Odeego in Athenian Riviera.

14. A visit to Niarchos Foundation is a MUST!
15. Day trip to Sounio. The drive is spectacular and there is also so much history.
16. End your day watching the most romantic sunset at Likavitos.
Extra Tips from Athens Nomads
1. Eat at Karamanlidika
2. Walk around the more sketchy areas of Athens ( Omonia, Metaksourgeio) for a reality photo-shooting.

4. – Take your bike and ride from city center to Floisvos Marina.
